Integrated Technical Writing and Presentation Skills

* Learn how to write and present technical information clearly

Course title: Integrated Technical Writing and Presentation Skills     
Duration: In-house, according to your requirements and the availability of your people. As a public course, 5 days.  

Objectives:

  • Communicate technical information in report form, and as a presentation
  • Understand your audience and your readers, deliver your message to them in both media, so that they understand and remember it
  • Explain costs, quantities, technical details, specifications and project plans in writing and using MS PowerPoint slides
  • Organise reports into logical sections to make logical reports
  • Organise presentation scripts with information clearly divided into separate parts
  • Use slides effectively to support your presentation
  • Write paragraphs and sentences correctly, and be understood
  • Use body language, eye contact, gestures and voice for maximum effect
  • Correct and edit reports, and evaluate your presentations

In-course activities:

  • Practice writing and editing sample documents
  • Practice writing paragraphs and sentences
  • Complete interactive writing tasks, testing clarity and effectiveness
Dynamic Presentation Skills

* Learn how to make presentations that people understand and remember

Course title: Dynamic Presentation Skills    
Duration: In-house, according to your requirements and the availability of your people. As a public course, 4 days.

Objectives:

  • Use the three presentation components successfully - voice, words, visuals
  • Present confidently, using a structured script and visuals
  • Understand your audience, their expectations and attitudes
  • Organise information into sections and topics
  • Use MS PowerPoint to prepare simple but effective visuals that communicate your key points
  • Use eye contact, body language, and voice control for effective presentation delivery
  • Ensure that your audience remembers your main message
  • Use checklists for planning presentations
  • Review and evaluate your presentations

In-course activities:

  • Deliver two prepared presentations (videotaped and evaluated during the course)
  • Make visuals using MS PowerPoint
  • Practice writing scripts and planning presentations
